Employees of the Nansen Centre, young researchers and graduate students regularly take part in the summer and winter schools, as well as in their organization. One such school was held in Peterhof, indoors physics department of the St. Petersburg State University. It was the first international summer school on high Northern latitude climate. The school was organised by the St. Petersburg Nansen Center (NIERSC) in conjunction with the St. Petersburg State University, the University of Bergen (Norway), Nansen Environmental and Remote Sensing Centre - NERSC (Bergen, Norway) and the Max Planck Institute for meteorology - MPI-M (Hamburg, Germany). Supervisors of the schools have been Prof. Hartmut Grassl (Germany) and Prof. Dmitry V. Pozdnjakov from the Nansen Centre (St.Petersburg). School program 2007 included lectures by leading scientists from different countries, as well as workshops and seminars, фтв cultural program.
